Defpro Entertainment was founded in 2000 by hip hop activist Thenkman. Since day one our mission has been to support and develop artists — from local hip hop talent to award-winning names like Franca Morgano and the legendary U.S. dancer and choreographer Shabba-Doo.

With our own dance crew Metro Dance Project, we’ve won competitions and performed across Germany, showcasing the energy and creativity of hip hop on stage.

In 2003 we also stepped into film production with the music documentary “MoneyTrain & Thenkman – A German Hip-Hop Summer 2003.” Featuring interviews with legends like Public Enemy, Guru, Petey Pablo, Redman and more, the film premiered in 2005 at the XX. Black International Film Festival in Berlin.

We had established the local Frankfurt hip hop community Propz City, where I could release 5 Rap-Mixtapes with the appearances of over  100 artists and producers.

As a local organiser we’ve brought the culture to life through parties, concerts, hip hop jams, and even castings and product promotions for  Warner Music and Sony Music in Frankfurt. As official record promoters for Universal Music, we’ve hosted more than 50 record release parties for global superstars including Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Madonna, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and many others.

Now, more than 25 years later Defpro Entertainment is still here — entertaining, promoting, developing, and creating. Always pushing the culture forward. Proudly we can announces our new client the Grammy-Award winner The D.O.C.
